Arima clan

The Arima clan (有馬氏 Arima-shi?) was a Japanese feudal daimyo family dating to the Sengoku period. Its name "Arima," transliterates as "has horses," reflecting the samurai/cavalry origins of the family. Famous members include Arima Harunobu and Arima Naozumi.

In the Shimabara Rebellion, former Arima vassals, many Christian, made one of the most significant threats to Tokugawa rule.
